Mahendra Singh Dhoni, commonly known as MS Dhoni, is a former Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian national team. He is considered one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the sport, and is known for his aggressive captaincy and cool, calm demeanor on the field.
Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand), and made his debut for the Indian cricket team in December 2004. Dhoni retired from Test cricket in December 2014, but continued to play limited-overs cricket for India. In January 2017, he stepped down as captain of the Indian One Day International and Twenty20 teams, but continues to play as a member of the team. He retired from international cricket on August 15th, 2020.
